About Us

OUR STORY

Igniting Stories, Illuminating Truths

Blue Flame Publications was inspired by the legacy of my late grandmother, Ms. Marie Young, whose soul food restaurant was more than a place to enjoy good food. It was a gathering space where people connected, stories were shared, and culture was celebrated. The name Blue Flame honors her entrepreneurial spirit and the power of storytelling. Just as the blue flame burns with remarkable intensity, our publications seek to illuminate stories that reflect the richness, complexity, and beauty of Black life.

Our Mission

At Blue Flame Publications, we believe storytelling is a form of liberation. Our mission is to amplify Black voices, preserve our histories, and celebrate our imaginations through literature that educates, inspires, and connects generations. We are committed to publishing meaningful works that center Black experiences while creating opportunities for reflection, healing, representation, and community building.

Our Books

A Yellow Ribbon in the Sky for Ronald is a beautifully illustrated children’s story about love, childhood cancer, grief, remembrance, and hope. Centering Black characters, the book offers children, families, educators, and communities a gentle way to begin meaningful conversations about illness, loss, and the people we carry with us.

The Black Healing Project Workbook is an interactive resource for reflection, healing, and personal growth. Rooted in Black experiences and resilience, the workbook invites readers to explore healing with intention while making space for rest, joy, and possibility.

What’s Next

Blue Flame Publications is expanding its catalog of books and educational resources that celebrate Black storytelling, encourage healing, and inspire meaningful conversations across generations.

We anticipate opening for submissions in Spring 2027.

Until then, explore our current titles, share them with your community, and stay connected as we continue building on a legacy of storytelling, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
